The benefits of an unplugged wedding - Ditch your phones and trust your wedding photographer | Nottingham & Lincolnshire natural wedding photographer

So what is an unplugged wedding you say?

An Unplugged wedding is where a couple has invested much time in finding the right wedding photographer and they trust them in capturing the whole day for them entirely. They wish for their guests not to take photos of their wedding and trust their photographer to capture it perfectly so that their guests can be truly within the moment.

What are the benefits of an unplugged wedding?

· It can ruin many amazing photos that your photographer could have got, but instead, they have people standing in front of them with a camera, phone or iPad in front of them and this also does not look so good in photos either. Your photographer will truly love you if you choose to have an unplugged wedding.

·  People are truly not in the moment, they are invested in social media and not fully paying attention to one of the most important days of your lifetime. An unplugged wedding allows your guests to be a truly presence in your day disconnect from the world and spend it with you so you won’t see a device in front of their faces, just their smiley faces!

· Some photos that guests take, may not even benefit you as a couple as they might not be focused or well-lit. Also, people tend to use sound and flash which can be distracting.

· It’s more private, without millions of photos uploaded online, you are in control of who sees your wedding day since you have chosen specific guests. You can then share the online gallery or photos on your special media, only if you choose to.

How to tell your guests you’re having an unplugged wedding?

·  Well hopefully your photographer can help you with this, you can simply pop it on your invitations, announce it with the registrar before the ceremony, or have an A board up with a sign. Also a Facebook post or all of the above!

·  So think about it, choose your photographer wisely, talk to them about having an unplugged wedding, and then announce it to your guests as this is your once-in-a-lifetime event!

·  Have a helper to encourage your guests to put down their phones if they see them with one.

·  Finally, lead by example and leave your phone at home. Make sure your best man and maid of honor have their phone for emergencies, oh and don’t forget to have fun!

I hope that this helps you understand photography and make the best decision for your special day.
