Mental wellbeing during the chaos of planning your wedding - Mental health awareness and tips | Nottingham & Lincolnshire natural wedding photographer

A little personal reminder…..

With the pressures of social media and the perfect Pinterest wedding a very real consequence of modern wedding planning.

I'm here to tell you a perfect wedding is one in which you and your partner are married at the end of the day.

Remember there's no such thing as the perfect anything.

You are celebrating your love for one another in front of the people who love you the most.

Remember that and it'll be the most perfect of days anyway.

Don't forget the most important person at your wedding.....YOU!

Self-care shouldn't take a back seat over wedding planning and it’s very easy to burn out if you aren't looking after yourself as much as you should be, so here are a few things you can do to make sure you are in top shape for your big day.

Remember to breathe -

If you start to feel overwhelmed or overcome with nerves remember to take some deep breaths. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4, and then repeat until you feel the calm return.

Drink a glass of cold water -

When things get too much you may find that you get brain fog or that you can become forgetful. This is completely normal but it's been proven that drinking cold water will improve your memory and make you feel more alert.

Stretch it out -

This is a really good one to do first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Exercise is so good for your well-being; it not only increases your mood but also can increase your focus. Try standing tall with your arms stretched in the air, then slowly bring your arms down to your waist then push your arms forward. Slowly breathe in and out as you do it.

Get organized -

Spend a few minutes a day organizing your wedding things. When things are unorganised it can be easy to become stressed. Have a wedding folder for all your weddingy bits and bobs. If you are a DIY kinda couple get big storage tubs for each section of your wedding to store things in an organised way.

Write down 3 things you are grateful for

and repeat them out loud a few times and things are sure to feel better.

Be positive -

It is that the more you say positive affirmations, the more likely they will become true. Try saying affirmations out loud, you'll find yourself feeling more positive and in control in no time.

Wedding planning is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of hard work, patience and time. So if you are a busy bride or a stressed-out bride we're glad you've stumbled across our post today.

Take at least 1-2 days off from planning a week -

Wedding planning is basically like a full-time job..... on top of a full-time job! But let's talk real life for a moment - just like any other job you are able to take some time off! If you just go, go, go all the time with no breaks you will legit drive yourself crazy. Give yourself some complete wedding planning days off!

Pamper yourself regularly -

You're a glowing bride-to-be who needs to keep up that glow girl. Heck, you should already be pampering yourself on the regular but now you're a bride-to-be with extra pressures schedule yourself in some extra bit of pampering. Stock up on your favorite bubble bath or pick up a few extra face masks.

Get some girl time in -

Something that always helps in times of stress is some time with your best ones. Get some of your best friends together and have a girl’s day or evening together. Go shopping, grab brunch, or have some cocktails. Let loose and have a laugh. You'll feel refreshed to get back to the planning.

I hope that these tips help you.
