Themed wedding tips

Having a themed wedding is incorporating your favourite loves into your wedding, whether it’s a movie such as Star Wars, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean or Alice in Wonderland. Or TV such as Peaky Blinders, Bridgerton, or Game of Thrones-themed wedding. It even includes styles such as fairies, mermaids, circus/carnival, medieval, and zombie themes.

Here is my top 3 tips for having a themed wedding:

1: As well as having a themed wedding, this also means that you don’t have to do things traditionally either, it’s all about your vision and creativity to make your wedding yours. Stay clear from wedding vendors that offer set cookie-cutter packages, go with independent small businesses, which will make your wedding come to life!

2: Remember that some people may have a negative attitude towards you and your ideas, ignore them it’s not their wedding. It’s yours! Infect, if they can’t agree to get involved with your special day as you’d like it, you might want to consider ditching them. It’s one day and it’s yours and you can have it the way you want.

3: Encourage your guests to dress up within your theme, you can tell them straight up, or you can completely surprise them on the day, it’s up to you. If you do want them to dress to the occasion, consider having a couple of little surprises throughout your wedding day to make it magical for everyone.

Gothic wedding tips

Are you having a gothic-style wedding? Here are 3 incredibly packed full-filed tips to help inspire your wedding planning for the perfect wedding day!

1: Besides a quirky venue, Black, Gold and Red colour theme, with Red and Black roses, consider having custom leather jackets to make a statement for your wedding party exit and wearing Dc Martin boots.

2: Focus on moody lighting, this can be with candles in calderbras and a low-lit venue for that dark and eerie look. Don’t forget to put a few skulls, and dripping candles for your table pieces, with your favours in little custom coffin boxes, and place names on tarot cards for your gothic décor.

3: A black wedding dress with a corset is the ultimate outfit for a Gothic bride. Teamed with your brightly coloured dyed hair, and a Black umbrella is a must for hot sunny days for the bride, with a Black veil. For an alternative twist, use dead roses for your bouquet! And of course, a dramatic crystal headpiece to finish off your alternative wedding look.

Consider having a flower bouquet with cogs and gears for an alternative twist.

2: Picking a quirky venue is a must-have, including having a live band for your steampunk-themed wedding, arriving in a vintage car is a must for your wedding day transport. Plus personalized pocket watches for your groomsmen are a perfect thank-you gift, and keys with charms on for the ladies. A vintage photo booth and backdrop are a perfect addition to your wedding.

Eco-friendly sustainable wedding tips

Are you wanting an eco-friendly sustainable wedding? Heere are 3 incredible packed full filed tips to help inspire your wedding planning for the perfect wedding day!

1: An outdoor wedding is a must! Borrowing hay bales from a farmer for seating, gives you a natural feel, and a tree draped in fabric for your alter. Wedding venues could include a barn, or tipi for shelter (Don’t forget you may have to hire portable toilets) Using candles for your lighting, or solar powered fairy lights to reduce your electricity consumption. Only use in season flowers for your décor.

2: Doing many of the décor and flowers by yourself, by reusing products will keep your carbon footprint low. (Think wildflowers in jars, wrapped in upcycled fabric) This can include renting your wedding dress instead of buying it, is also a great alternative. Make your own confetti by using scrap paper and a hole punch, or biodegradable petal confetti. You can also ask for charity donations for your gifts. Don’t forget to ask your make-up artist if they are using cruelty free make up!

3: Talking favours you could offer seeds, or homemade cookies. including having a vegetarian menu, using local independent companies, or even baking your own cake. Don’t forget to use recycled paper, or hand make your own paper for your wedding invites. As an alternative you can compost your guests food leftovers, instead of wasting it.
