Having a winter wedding - 3 wedding tips to rock your winter wedding | Nottingham & Lincolnshire natural wedding photographer

Are you considering having a wedding during the winter season? Here are 3 incredibly packed full-filed tips to help inspire your wedding planning for the perfect wedding day!

1:  Winter lighting is low, embrace this with fairy lights throughout your wedding venue. This includes candles, which give a soft and romantic look for your wedding day. This can include large hanging light baubles from the tables for a statement.

2: Holy is a lovely addition to table centerpieces, or button holes, alongside mistletoe and berries in your flower bouquet, or table flowers. Yule log cake, or fruit cake is a perfect cake choice for a winter wedding, and having a carvery, or pie for your food choices, with spiced cocktails for drinks. Sparkly bridesmaid dresses are a must for a winter theme.

3: You know it’s going to be cold, so prepare for this by providing tartan blankets for your guest’s knees when they sit down, or shawls on the backs of chairs and wearing thick tights under your wedding dress, including a lovely fluffy shawl to keep you warm. Consider hiring heaters, or ask your venue about their heating, or have a ‘warm’ table with hand warmers, and hot drinks like mulled wine, hot cider, and hot chocolate. Is there a place where guests can hang up their coats and take their boots off, maybe offer them slippers to change from outside cold weather of snow and rain. You also don’t have to have your wedding photos taken outdoors either.

I hope these tips help inspire your wedding planning.
