How to nail your wedding reception party for an amazing wedding day! | Wedding inspiration for engaged couples in love | Nottingham & Lincolnshire natural wedding photographer

Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, there are lots of aspects to think about! So I’m here to help you out my offering some guidance on how to plan your dream wedding!

Tips on writing your wedding speech:

In all seriousness, my biggest vow writing tip would be to not overthink it!

During your speech prep; find somewhere a bit private where you can practice a slightly larger-than-life voice pre-wedding.

The speeches and toast:

like it or not — involves being a bit entertaining and being the center of attention for a minute or so, don’t forget to crack a joke or two.

No matter how good your toast is, the guests won't be able to hear if you are mumbling or speaking at 200 words per minute! So SLOW DOWN!

Don't be scared to ask people if they can hear you in all parts of the room. (Usually, the venue will have done a sound check before the speeches)

With formal speech traditions changing some choose to leave a mic on the table for anyone to get up and say a few words after the people you have chosen to say their speeches.

Embrace it. Enjoy it but most of all be yourself and share words from the heart.

5 Wedding entertainment ideas:

- Lawn games: Large popular board games such as snakes and ladders, chess, and twister to traditional games like croquet.

- Magician or Hypnotist; Something to get your guests laughing and in awe, an entertainment that will keep your friends and family talking!

- Caricaturist; something a little more unique and your guests can take home something personal!

- Singing waitresses; Yep, this one you probably won't have heard about, but it will have your guests talking about your wedding in awe, choose sing-a-longs to get the mood going!

- Palm reader; this will be ideal for those who are interested in spirituality and incorporate crystals into your wedding! (read my blog post, over on my website to learn more!)
