5 tips on how to keep children entertained at your wedding | Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer

Are you planning on having little children at your wedding? Here are 5 tips to help inspire your wedding planning for the perfect wedding day!

1: Consider hiring a creche, this will allow your guests to safely leave their children and be able to have fun at your wedding, plus the kids will have fun!

2: Particular times they may get bored is the ceremony itself, waiting for food and speeches, these key moments should be considered. Give children special jobs to keep them busy and feel important during your wedding day, this can include handing out the wedding programs, lighting a unity candle, handing out confetti, handing out the wedding party gifts, singing a song after the speeches, etc.

3: Think about your venue, having a venue that has a park and plenty of space is a must-have for children at weddings! This will allow them space to play and run their energy.

4: Providing large garden games like Jenga, twister, or balls will keep children entertained, as well as busy books for each one on their table, or goodie bags full of toys as favors.

5: Don’t forget that children can be fussy eaters, they need their own child-friendly menu. They may also get messy, not eat, or be really hungry! Having a snack table is ideal to keep hungry children going, with wet wipes for messy ones, and encourage your guests to bring an extra outfit for after they have eaten if it gets dirty. Children older than 8 can have their own ‘kids table’ which I’m sure they will enjoy spending time with, rather than adults. (However don’t put teens on that table, allow them to have their own table and space) Don’t forget the high chairs for babies for the meal.

I hope these tips help you with your wedding planning!
