3 tips on how to help guide a neurodivergent person to plan their wedding day | Wedding inspiration for all | Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire natural wedding photographer

Neurodiverse people are unique and need additional support in navigating through life. If you have a partner, friend, or family member planning a wedding here are 3 incredibly packed full-filled tips to help inspire wedding planning for the perfect wedding day!

1: Tell them that they need to remember they don’t have to follow traditions and you can make their wedding the way they want. If you need things to be simpler and stress-free due to anxiety and overwhelm, that’s ok – IT’S YOUR DAY!

2: Provide help guiding through contracts and the small details with suppliers. This is especially important for vulnerable people and those with dyslexia. Using a color-coded budget sheet may help support people with Dyscalculia. Colour-coordinated planning guides can help people who struggle with ADHD and help them keep organized, creating a visual timeline could support neurodiverse people.

3: Every person is unique, so they will have their own needs. Asking suppliers to communicate with pre-made videos may help support phone anxiety, and going with them to check out venues, and suppliers alike. Ask them if they have experience working with neurodiverse people and what they can do to support the wedding.

As a neurodiverse person myself with Dyslexia, I very much know that navigating through the world can be difficult and I very much hope that these tips help!
