All about Maternity photoshoots with Victoria Louise photo studio

Weather your wanting just your maternity belly captured, the whole journey and have an experience, or a ‘bump to baby photoshoot’ in Lincolnshire, you’re in the right place! I’ll let you know how I work and what to expect from me.

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy, from one mum to another! What an intimate and special time, weather it’s your first baby or 4th! Every baby is important, especially if you have had difficulty trying to conceive, or lost a baby.

What a beautiful way to capture the journey into parenthood and welcoming your baby into your family with a visual experience!

It’s an incredibly precious moment in families lives, from finding out, buying your baby clothes and items, preparing the nursery all whilst keeping yourself healthy!

Unfortunately, pregnancy is not easy on some people and you may struggle with the concept of having a photoshoot, but trust me when I say this it will be WORTH it! Many mothers have said to me ‘oh I wish I had more pictures of my bump’ You might feel like a rock star, or you might feel like a zombie, either way capturing this small window into the journey of your story is a magical time for you to create everlasting memories.

Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you are comfortable and happy throughout your maternity photoshoot, having being pregnant twice myself and having difficult pregnancy and births, I know that it can be overwhelming and a sensitive time for some people.

Capture the journey:

Pregnancy reveal: This is where we have a mini photoshoot just after your 12 week scan and you can have professional images to share your pregnancy with your friends and family.

Gender reveal: The next milestone is just after your 20 week scan when you find out the gender of your baby and then we can have a photoshoot announcing this.

Baby bump: This is the final stage of your pregnancy journey where I will photograph you in your 3rd trimester, around 30 weeks when your belly is pronounced.

Family: Yes, you can have your partner and other children photographed in those sessions.

Newborn photoshoot: After your newborn has been born you can choose to have a posed newborn shoot, or a natural one. Read my blog post here to learn more about that.

Bump to baby photoshoot experiences:

If you don’t want to capture the milestones and just have your pregnancy belly photographed whilst it’s blossoming in the 3rd trimester (or if your already there!) We can do a full maternity session and then a newborn baby photoshoot once they have arrived into the world.

Just maternity pictures:

If you don’t want to have your baby photographed, and just want to capture your pregnancy, that’s fine. This is best done in the 3rd trimester around 30 weeks when you’ll most likely have a baby belly, but not be too big and uncomfortable to pose for a photoshoot. Don’t worry if your 38-39 weeks either, I’ve photographed last minute maternity photoshoots with beautiful results.

Why have a maternity photoshoot?

Simply put motherhood is beautiful, bringing life into the world is magical and the pregnancy journey is very short only being 9 months (Though it might feel like a lifetime and especially if you found out late!) Having professional photos done will allow you to have a visual memory and experience of your pregnancy journey, it will be stress free, because I do all the work creating beautiful imagery and you can have stunning hairlooms for the future.

Not only that, having photos done will help you bond with your children when you show them your photos, it will give them a sense of belonging and help increase their self-esteem when they see how important they are.

Having a maternity photoshoot is an experience, it’s capturing memories for your future, an investment that you won’t regret! Having done maternity photoshoots I was pregnant myself with my first child in 2011, too many families say they regret not capturing these special moments in their lives. You also don’t have to have your ‘bump out’ if you don’t want to.
